
Henry Jordan wins league honor

Sam Houston State senior Henry Jordan has been named the Southland Conference men's track and field athlete of the week, the league office announced Wednesday.
Jordan earned weekly honors after posting impressive marks in the SHSU-SFA Dual Meet in Huntsville, Texas. The Conroe, Texas (Covenant Christian), native, won the long jump at the meet, recording the nation's third longest jump with a mark of 24-feet, 6 1/2 inches.
On the track, Jordan led off the winning 4x100 relay team (40.88 seconds) and placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.80.
The Sam Houston State track and field team heads to Houston for the Rice Invitational this weekend.
