The doubleheader at Roadrunner Softball Complex will begin at 4 p.m.
Sam Houston stands 6-2 in Southland play and 12-15 for the year after sweeping doubleheaders against Stephen F. Austin, Northwestern State and Houston Baptist in the past two weeks.
UTSA brings a 3-3 Southland Conference and 13-18 overall record into the fray.
The doubleheader matches top of the league's top hitting teams.
The Roadrunners, led by Courtney Buchman with a .391, rank second in the Southland with a .303 team batting average.
Sam Houston stands fourth in Southland hitting with a .263 team mean. Kim Damian (.375) and Tori Benavidez (.341) lead the Bearkats at the plate.
Next home action for Sam Houston State will be a doubleheader Tuesday, March 10, with Texas Southern at Bearkat Softball Complex.
