Seven season bests

Senior Sara Collazos led the team with a meet championship in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. Collazos ran the event in a season best time of 11:38.00.
Shauni Prihoda also placed well at the meet for the Kats. Her 105-8 throw in the javelin took third place and she cleared 11-3.75 in the pole vault for an eighth place finish.
Shelbie Zotyka cleared 12-3.5 in the pole vault to earn herself another top three finish. Zotyka has taken top three honors in all three meets she has competed in this outdoor season.
Sam Houston placed three competitors in the top eight of the 100 meter hurdles.
Sabrina Starr earned her second top eight finish of the season with a time of 14.19 to lead the Bearkats in the event.
Britny Biles and Morgan Davis finished the hurdles with season best times of 14.50 and 14.55 respectively. Biles took sixth place and Davis took seventh.
Jenny Zoch continued her steady performance in 2012 with two fourth place finishes. She threw the hammer 158-6 and tossed the shot put 46-1.25.
Zoch also placed ninth in the discus throw with a season best performance of 138-8. She has earned the Bearkats eight top eight finishes so far this season in her events.
Another athlete that performed well in multiple events for the Kats was Sunday Foster. She took fourth in the long jump (17-11.75), fifth in the 200 meter dash (24.51) and tenth in the 100 meter dash (12.29).
The next action for the SHSU track and field teams will be next Saturday at the J. Fred Duckett Twilite at Rice University.
