9/25/2012 11:19:00 AM | Football
Sam Houston will have
the opportunity to play in a brand-new orange-clad stadium Thursday, as they take
on Texas Southern at 7:05 p.m. The site,
BBVA Compass Stadium, is the home of the Houston Dynamo of the MLS.
The newly-built
stadium is filled with thousands of bright orange seats that should make the
Bearkats feel right at home even though it's an away game. Texas Southern will
play all of its home games at BBVA Compass Stadium in 2012.
The $95 million BBVA
Compass Stadium, which opened this year, seats 22,000 fans. The stadium, in
downtown Houston, has a natural grass field that is able to accommodate
football, soccer, rugby, and lacrosse. The arena is outfitted with a 25-ft. by
40-ft. LED high definition video board.
