Damian named to preseason All-America squad

The senior first baseman/designated player from Angleton, led the Southland in slugging (.701) and ranked fourth in the league in batting average as the Bearkats' leading hitter in 2012. She totaled 15 multiple hit games and produced the Kats' longest hitting streak of the season (eight games).
Sam Houston State finished as the Southland Conference runner-up in the final regular season standings then went on to reach the finals of the league's post-season tournament.
Damian also was named to the Southland All-Tournament team after providing plenty of powerful hitting for the Kats including a triple and a home run and three RBIs.
Sam Houston State begins its 2013 softball season with an appearance in the Baylor Bear Classic in Waco Feb. 7-9.
