Bearkats Host UCA & ORU

Just six games remain in the Southland soccer regular season and the Bearkats will look to capitalize on playing their next four games at home. Sam Houston hosts a pair of pivotal games this weekend with Central Arkansas Friday at 7 p.m. and Oral Roberts Sunday at 1 p.m.
Friday is another “Free Food Tailgate” where the first 100 students in attendance can get free Double Dave's Pizza.
The Bearkats stand 3-3 at the halfway point of the conference regular season which puts them in a tie with Friday's opponent UCA for the No. 6 seed in the Southland Tournament.
Oral Roberts is currently third in the league standings with a 5-2 record.
With a 5-2 win over Lamar, SHSU is coming off its highest scoring output in a conference game since 2010. The Kats had four different goal scorers in the game and benefitted from an LU own goal.
Sophomore midfielder Mariah Titus leads the Kats with six goals this season. Titus has scored in four of the five wins and has hit the game-winner in three of those games.
Freshman Jacey Hamilton has proven to be an aerial threat and is tied with senior Tricia Mallory for second on the team with three goals.
The Kats close out the home stand against A&M-Corpus Christi Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. and Southeastern Louisiana Oct. 27 at 1 p.m.
