Wells-Gibson Offensive Player of the Week

Sam Houston State outside hitter Deveney Wells-Gibson has been named the Southland Conference volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.
Wells-Gibson led the Bearkats to victories over Northwestern State and Stephen F. Austin last week.
The junior from San Antonio, Texas (Churchill H.S.) accounted for 44.5 of Sam Houston States' 115 points and she averaged 5.71 kills per set which surpassed her 4.47 kill average that leads the Southland this year.
The Bearkats outside hitter extended her streak of double-figure kills to 10 matches and her 23 kills at Northwestern State marked her sixth match this year with more than 20 kills.
Central Arkansas junior libero Shelbee Berringer received Defensive Player of the Week honors.
The Bearkats and Sugar Bears meet up Saturday in Huntsville in what could be a big game in the Southland title race. Right now, the Bears own a perfect 11-0 Southland mark while the Bearkats stand one-half game back in second place with an 11-1 mark.
