Central Arkansas defeated Sam Houston 21-25, 25-18, 25-13, 26-24 in a Southland Conference volleyball match Saturday at Johnson Coliseum.
Deveney Wells-Gibson led the Bearkats with 23 kills while UCA's Jessica Nagy led her team with 16.
The loss drops dropped Sam Houston to 11-3 in Southland Conference action. Central Arkansas improved to a perfect 14-0 in league play.
SHSU took the first set after getting out to a big lead. But UCA went on to win the next three sets by a tight margin.
The Bearkats will play McNeese State and Nicholls at Johnson Coliseum next week and close the season on the road at Houston Baptist and A&M-Corpus Christi.
The Southland Conference tournament will take place Nov. 22-24 in Corpus Christi.
