Men Host Jarvis Christian at 7 p.m.

The Sam Houston men's basketball team looks to extend its winning streak to four games Wednesday when the Bearkats play host to Jarvis Christian in a non-conference contest at 7 p.m. at Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum.
The Kats are off to a 3-0 start this season, their best since beginning the 2008 campaign with a 10-0 run.
Offensive production is an important part of the team's success this year and the point infusion has come from junior college transfers Jabari Peters and Kaheem Ransom.
Both transfers from SewardCountyCommunity College in Kansas, Peters is averaging 22.5 points per game while Ransom is adding 17.3.
Peters scored 29 points and Ransom added 19 in Sam Houston's 108-103 double overtime win at Prairie View A&M last Thursday.
“We went out to get some offense during recruiting last year and we got some,” SHSU head coach Jason Hooten said of the pair. “We've got some work to do to get where we want to be defensively, but its good to see the improvement on the offensive end.”
The Jarvis Chrisian contest will be Sam Houston's last home game for almost a month as the Bearkats face seven consecutive road games before returning to Johnson Coliseum on Dec. 28 to host LIU-Brooklyn.
The Kats begin the road swing Sunday facing Texas A&M in College Station in a 4 p.m. duel.
