
Dooley Breaks 12-Year-Old Record In Win In Iowa

Alyssa Dooley broke a 12-year-old Sam Houston State school indoor track record Friday as she took first place in the women's 800 meter run at the Iowa State Indoor Classic in Ames, Iowa.
Dooley bettered her 2013 season best by almost five seconds with a 2:12.67 clocking.
On Saturday, the Flower Mound Marcus product broke her own school record with a 4:55.44 performance in the mile run. Dooley's old record, set last season, was 4:59.37.
The race field included runners from Iowa, North Dakota, Kansas, Kansas State, Bradley, Minnesota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Iowa State, Nicholls, Central Arkansas and Stephen F. Austin.
The old Bearkat women's indoor 800-meter school record time was 2:14.23 set by Carol Dyer in 2001.
