Tanya Postnikova defeated Holly Verner 7-6, 3-6, 1-0 at number 5 singles and Kayla Stevenson picked up a win by default at number 6 to provide Sam Houston State with its points as the Bearkats fell 5-2 to SMU SUnday afternoon at McAdams Tennis Center in Huntsville.  

SMU had only five players available Sunday due to injury and had to default the No. 3 doubles pro set and the No. 6 singles match.  

The Bearkats had an opportunity to take the doubles point and big momentum into the singles, leading 7-4 in the number one doubles. But Edyta Cieplucha and Aleks Malyarchikova bounced back to force a tiebreakter which they won 7-2.
