Bowlers No. 8 In Latest NCAA Div. I Rankings

The Bearkats stand 63-20 for the season in dual matches. That includes a 24-14 record against teams ranked among the nation's top 20.
Central Missouri (60-12) and Maryland-Eastern Shore (59-14) remain atop the NTCA poll at the No. 1 and 2 spots.
Nebraska (40-12), Arkansas State (45-18) and Vanderbilt (59-26) are ranked third through fifth, respectively.
Rounding out the top 10 are Wisconsin-Whitewater (53-21), Fairleigh Dickinson (40-18), Sam Houston (63-20), Adelphi (47-22) and Stephen F. Austin (50-29).
The Bearkats stood No. 4 nationally at the end of the fall schedule.
During January, Sam Houston finished seventh at the Arkansas State Mid-Winter Classic and won the Bowie State Underwood Classic.
January action saw the Kats rack up victories over No. 7 Arkansas State, No. 15 Valparaiso and No. 19 Bethune-Cookman.
During the same period Sam Houston lost to No. 3 Vanderbilt, No. 6 Nebraska , No. 9 Wisconsin-Whitewater, No. 13 Stephen F. Austin and unranked opponents Bowie State and North Carolina Central.
For the 2012-13 season, Sam Houston stands 8-7 against the seven teams ranked ahead of the Bearkats in the new poll and 13-6 against the No. 9-20 teams.
The Bearkats have won tournament championships this season at Tulane, Alabama State, Sam Houston and Bowie State.
