Bearkats at Texas Relays in Austin

Sam Houston continues competition at the annual Texas Relays in Austin.
The Bearkat men's 4x800 relay of DeQuad Binder, Freddy Arellano, Andrew Waller and Clint Anders placed sixth with a time of 7:41.29.
Matt Johnson did not finish competition in the decathlon, putting up marks of 97' 0” in the discus, 14.79 in the 110m hurdles and 15' 1” in the pole vault. Wednesday, Johnson finished third in the decathlon 100 meter dash (10.71) and long jump (23' 2”), fourth in the shot put (43' 5.75”), seventh in the 400 meters (50.25) and 14th in the high jump (5' 11.25”).
Matthew Viverette placed 13th in the 400 meter hurdles (52.95) and William Stark was 41st (55.52). Patrick Pitts finished 24th in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (9:50.72) Thursday.
In the women's 400 meter hurdles, Ruth Amaku was 17th in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.67.
