Tanya Postnikova, Natalie Petaia, Maddie Mortimore and Nadia Dubyanskaya all won their singles matches and the Bearkats took the doubles point as Sam Houston defeated Nicholls State in a women's tennis dual match Friday in Natchitoches, La.

The victory lifted Sam Houston to 5-9 for the year and gave the Kats their first Southland Conference dual match win in four contests.

Postnikova defeated Eva Castiglioni  6-1, 6-2 at number three and Petaia won 6-2 6-2 over Isla Brock at four.

Mortinmore defeated Emma Pitre 6-0 at number five and Dubyanskaya downed Catherine Gautheir 6-1 6-1.

Sam Houston won all three doubles pro sets.

The Bearkats play Southeastern Louisiana in Hammond on Saturday morning.
