Rodney Jones & Charles White Earn SLC Award

Sophomore Rodney Jones and junior Charles White were tabbed men's track and field athletes of the week, the league announced Monday.
Jones earned an individual title in the 400-meter dash at the Sam Houston State Twilight in Huntsville, Texas.
The sophomore from DeSoto, Texas (Lancaster H.S.), picked up his second title of the season following a 49.29-second performance in the event. Jones is the first Bearkat to claim the award this season.
White won an individual title in the triple jump at the Sam Houston State Twilight. The junior from Las Vegas, Nevada (El Dorado H.S.), paced the field with a jump of 48 feet, 11.75 inches while becoming the second Bearkat to notch the weekly honor this season.
The Sam Houston track and field team competes in the Southland outdoor championships this weekend in Lake Charles, La.
