
Bowlers' GPA 3rd Among NCAA Div. I Teams

The Sam Houston's women's bowling team that ended the 2012-13 season ranked No. 7 in the final national rankings after their third NCAA Elite Eight appearance in three years have a new honor to add to their collection.
The Bearkats have been ranked No. 3 in the nation among the top NCAA Division I women's bowling teams for their academic performance.
The National Ten Pin Coaches Association (NTCA) has honored 23 Division I programs for producing a team grade point average of 3.20 or higher (on the 4.0 scale) during the 2012-13 academic year.
Sam Houston State produced a team grade point average of 3.68 for the school year. During the 2013 spring semester, the team's 3.79 GPA was the highest of any of the Bearkats' 17 sports programs.
