Sam Houston is back in the Sports Network Top 25 heading into the final regular-season game against Central Arkansas, this Saturday, November 22. The Coaches Poll lists the Bearkats among the other teams receiving votes.
The No. 23 Bearkats can claim at least a share of the Southland Conference title with a win over the UCA Bears.
Southeastern Louisiana is the highest ranked Southland team, sitting at No. 10 in both polls. With a win over Nicholls this weekend, the Lions will win at least a share of their second straight league title. McNeese State is No. 17 in the Coaches Poll and 19th in the Sports Network poll.
Sam Houston had been ranked nationally for 43 consecutive polls (dating back to the 2011 season) until falling out earlier this season.
New Hampshire holds the top spot in the media poll, while Coastal Carolina is ranked first by the coaches. North Dakota State, Jacksonville State and Eastern Washington round out the top five.
