Taylor Dorsey and Shernise Robertson each scored 13 points but the Sam Houston women's basketball team fell 65-48 to Wiley College Friday at the annual “Pack the House” game.
The Bearkats held an early 12-11 lead in the first half before Wiley College went on a 10-2 run to go ahead. The Wildcats would lead the rest of the way.
Wiley was led by Tyeka Ranton who scored 23 points and pulled down eight rebounds. The only other Wildcat player to score in double digits was Jimelliah Price who added 14 points.
The Kats were outrebounded 65-48 and outscored 32-24 in the paint. Wiley's bench contributed 32 points while the SHSU bench managed just six points.
Sam Houston falls to 0-2 early in the season and will hit the road for the long trip to Brookings, South Dakota to take on South Dakota State Monday at 6:00 p.m.
