
Hill earns national FCS weekly honor

Sam Houston's Keshawn Hill has been named as FCS National Co-Offensive “Player-of-the-Week” by the College Sporting News. Hill and wide receiver R. J. Harris of New Hampshire shared the honor.
The Bearkat senior running back from Klein became only the fourth Sam Houston player to score four rushing touchdowns in one game as he led SHSU to a 42-28 victory over No. 23 Stephen F. Austin Saturday.
Hill scored on runs of 59, 31, 3 and 32 yards. He accounted for 257 all-purpose yards with 158 yards rushing, 13 receiving and 88 on kickoff returns. He averaged 11.1 yards per carry.
With the performance in the 89th “Battle of the Piney Woods” before a record crowd of 26,788 fans at NRG Stadium in Houston (home of the NFL Texans), Hill moved up to No. 3 in SHSU career rushing TDs (30), No.. 6 in Bearkat all-time all-purpose yards (3,380) and became only the 12th Kat back to total more than 2,000 career rushing yards (2,076).
The victory kept the Bearkats in a first place tie with McNeese State and Southeastern Louisiana in the Southland title race. All three teams own 4-1 league records.
Harris caught 10 passes for 108 yards and two scores in No. 4 New Hampshire's 49-24 victory over Albany Saturday.
