White captures Field Athlete of the Week

Sam Houston State senior Charles White is the Southland Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced Wednesday.
The award comes for White after placing third in the triple jump with a leap of 51 feet, 0.75 inches at the CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala. last weekend.
White, a Las Vegas, Nevada native currently holds the highest mark in the conference in the category and ranks 20th nationally.
In total, the Bearkats captured 16 top-five performances at the CrossPlex's Samford Invitational including White's first of the season.
Sam Houston's next action will come on Friday as the Kats compete in the Houston Tune Up before getting ready for the Southland Conference Indoor Championships back in Birmingham.
