Sam Houston dropped two games in a softball doubleheader at Southeastern Louisiana in Hammond Saturday, falling 10-3 and 6-4.
The Bearkats now stand 10-13 for the year a 1-4 in Southland Conference play.
Shortstop Tayler Gray hit a solo home run and catcher Tiffany Castillo had an RBI double in a 10-3 loss to Southeastern Louisiana in the first game.
All three runs came in the top of the four inning. Castillo's double scored third baseman Tori Koerselman who reach base on a fielder's choice. Castillo later scored on an error.
Southeastern Louisiana opened the game with three runs in the bottom of the first and added another tally in the third. SHSU's three-run fourth cut the margin to 4-3, but the Lions roared back for four runs in the bottom of the fourth and two more in the sixth inning.

The Lions started quickly in the nightcap as well, scoring five runs in the first inning and another in the second. The big inning in the first came on a two-run homer, a two-run double and a run scoring single.
Sam Houston rallied for two runs in the third and one tally in both the fourth and fifth frames.
Castillo produced the first two runs with a single in the third, bring in Gray who walked and second baseman Alyssa Coggins who singled.
Center fielder Jessica Slater doubled and scored on a Lion error in fourth. Coggins singled and later scored on a sacrifice fly by right fielder Cecilia Castillo in the fifth.
Haley Baros took the loss in the circle in the first game. Meme Quinn was the losing pitcher for SHSU in the nightcap.
The two teams will wrap up the three-game weekend series Sunday with a single game. Sam Houston's next home game is Tuesday against Texas Southern at 4 p.m.
