Natalie Petaia had a hand in both Sam Houston's points as the Bearkats fell to Nicholls 5-2 in a Southland Conference women's tennis dual match Tuesday.

The match was a make-up of a match canceled due to rain last month.

Petaia teamed with Bella Costa to win the No. 3 doubles pro set as the Bearkats started the match by winning the doubles point. Olivia Battye and Karen Martinez won at No. 2 doubles.

In singles, Petaia won at the No. 3 position.

Sam Houston now stands 4-11 for the season and 2-8 in Southland Conference action. Nicholls is 13-7 for the year and 6-4 in league play.

The Bearkats close out their 2014 season Friday and Saturday with matches at Stephen F. Austin and Northwestern State.
