Sam Houston soccer announces 2014 schedule

Non-conference home games with Louisiana-Lafayette, TCU, Texas-San Antonio and Utah State plus six Southland Conference regular season contests at Joseph Pritchett Field highlight the 2014 schedule for the Sam Houston women's soccer team.
The Bearkats open regular season action on Friday, August 22, with a 6:30 p.m. showdown with Louisiana-Lafayette. Overall, the SHSU women have 11 home appearances on their 18-game regular season schedule.
Head Coach Tom Brown returns all but one starter from his 2013 squad that rolled up nine victories and reached the semi-finals of the Southland Conference post-season tournament.
Non-conference matches at Pritchett this fall also include contests versus UTSA August 24, Prairie View A&M August 31, Utah State September 12 and TCU September 14.
The Bearkat soccer squad opens Southland Conference action with four consecutive home league contests against Abilene Christian September 19, Incarnate Word September 21, McNeese September 28 and Northwestern State October 3.
After a five-game road swing in October, the Kats close out the regular season schedule on Halloween night against Houston Baptist and Nicholls State on November 2.
The Bearkats face non-conference road trips to College Station to meet Illinois State August 29 and Texas Tech September 7.
Non-conference road foes for SHSU are Stephen F. Austin October 5, Lamar October 10, Central Arkansas October 17, A&M-Corpus Christi October 24 and Southeastern Louisiana October 26.
The 2014 Southland Conference tournament will be held in Beaumont this year from Thursday, November 6 to Sunday, November 9.
