After a scoreless first half, Utah State exploded for three goals to beat the Sam Houston women's soccer team 3-0 at Pritchett Field Sunday night. The Bearkats are back home against TCU Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
Shortly after halftime the Aggies' Lexie Morgan opened the scoring on an assist from Jessica Brooksby. A cross came in from the right wing and Morgan was there to pounce on a loose ball after a deflection.
Kylie Dibb scored a second goal for Utah State less than 10 minutes later. Jayne Robinson played Dibb through one-on-one and she slotted it past Sam Houston goalkeeper Kylie Hambleton.
USU's Lauren Roundy put the game away with a third goal off of corner kick by Brook Leavitt-Larsen.
The Kats drop to 1-5 this season with just one game left in non-conference play. After Sunday's game with TCU the Kats will play four consecutive conference opponents at home before embarking on a five-game road swing.
