Four Kats among SLC Top-20

Allie Johnson, Shelby McDaniel, Ashley Alonzo and Mariah Titus were named among the top-20 soccer players in the Southland Conference by TopDrawerSoccer.com.
Johnson, ranked sixth, finished the regular season tied for the Southland lead in goals (eight) with the league's Player of the Year Zuri Prince. She became the fifth sophomore in school history to score at least eight goals. Johnson was also second on the team with three assists.
Playing as the main creative force in the midfield for Sam Houston, McDaniel slots in at ninth in the rankings. She scored five goals and dished out two assists. McDaniel started all but one game last season.
Alonzo, the 10th ranked player, sparked the Kats great run through Southland play with a hat trick against Incarnate Word in the second league game. She finished the regular season second on the team with six goals, while also assisting on two goals. She scored the Bearkats only goal in the SLC Tournament this season.
A junior midfielder, Titus rounds out the Bearkats to make the list at the 18th spot. She was named to the All-Southland second team in 2014 after leading the Kats with four assists. Titus was the team's leading scorer in 2013 with eight goals.
