Hi there!
This past weekend, we struggled to come out of either game with a win. On Friday night, we ended in a 0-0 tie against Southeastern Louisiana and lost 2-0 against Nicholls. We did not play up to our potential for either game, which led to us not being able to have the outcome we wanted and needed. This week we will continue to work on correcting the small things so that we can bounce back from this weekend and finish the season strong.
On Friday, we played Southeastern Louisiana and it was a game we were more than capable of winning. We pursued throughout the entire game and kept the intensity high, but unfortunately we couldn't capitalize on our opportunities. I was really proud of the team for continuing to fight throughout the game, even when things just weren't going our way. It was a tough game but we will look to bounce back from it this upcoming weekend with our two last away games of the season.
Then on Sunday, we played against Nicholls. We had minimal opportunities because we didn't possess the ball and connect passes to create those opportunities. It was only a tough game because we made it a tough by playing down to the other team. We are very capable of winning games like these but we just unfortunately could not play up to our potential this game and ended up losing 2-0.
Most of us had midterms last week and are wrapping up them up this week. Thankfully, we should be finished with them before this weekend so that we are able to focus on both of these games without having any other distractions. We had team dinner on Thursday but many of us had tests so we were not able to stay long. We still got to see and hangout with each other a little bit before we had to go back to study.
Practices this week will need to be more intense because we have more at stake going into our last two away games this weekend. We will need to continue to make everything game like and to perfect everything we can before we head into the game on Friday against Incarnate Word. We are ready with full hearts to go into this next weekend with the mindset that we will win both of these games.
