
Five high school seniors sign with Bearkats

Five talented high school seniors have signed November letters-of-intent to attend Sam Houston next year and play softball for Bearkat head coach Bob Brock.
Kaitlynn Dawson from Lubbock, Casey Kauder from Caldwell, Megan McDonald from Georgetown, Tiffany Thompson from Montgomery and Bailey White from Burleson all will be wearing the orange and white next year for the Bearkats.
Dawson earned Texas Class 6A all-state honors as a pitcher and first baseman for state ranked Coronado High School. She is a three-time all-district performer and was selected as Lone Star varsity player of the year in 2015. She is a three-time academic all-district selection.
Kauder is a pitcher/third baseman who is a two-time all-state selection and district “Most Valuable Player” for Caldwell. She was selected as the Max Preps National Player of the Week in March of her junior year. She is a National Honor Society member and three-time academic all-district honoree.
McDonald is a two-time all-district outfielder who was named to the NFCA South Central all-region team and was a TSWA all-state second team honoree last year. She is a three-time academic all-district selection.
Thompson is a shortstop and second baseman who has earned all-district honors three years in a row and was name as district defensive player of the year as a junior. She is a three-time academic all-district student-athlete.
White is a catcher and third baseman who was been voted as all-district as a sophomore and junior and is a three-time academic all-district honoree. She earned her high school's athletic achievement award in 2015.
“We are so excited about this recruiting class,” Brock said. “They have performed well both academically and athletically. We expect them to have an immediate impact within our program in every way possible.”
