Men play host to Wiley Wildcats Sunday at 6:30

Looking to even their season record at three victories and three losses, the Sam Houston men's basketball team plays host to Wiley College Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum.
The Wildcats bring an 8-1 record to Huntsville and stand in first place in the Red River Conference with a perfect 5-0 mark.
The Bearkats are fresh from a 71-46 victory over Bethune-Cookman at the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic Friday. Up by only two points midway through the second half, the Kats went on a 24-1 run to close down the Wildcats and earn the win.
“We got better Friday,” Sam Houston head coach Jason Hooten said. “We talked in the locker room at halftime about how we'd given up a couple of big runs to our opponents in the last two games. We wanted to turn that around and we did.”
Sam Houston junior guard Dakarai Henderson leads the Bearkats and ranks fourth in the Southland Conference in scoring with an average of 16.0 points per game. He has been the leading scorer for the SHSU men in four of the team's five games.
Junior center Aurimas Majauskas also is averaging in double figures with 13.0 points per game. Majauskas adds 5.0 rebounds per game.
Transfer Torry Butler, a 6-5 forward from Three Rivers Community College, stands as the Southland's third-leading rebounder so far this season. Butler is averaging 7.8 boards per contest.
“We knew when we signed Torry he could rebound,” Hooten said. “He's been a factor for us on the boards.”
Following the Wiley College game Sunday, the Bearkats will head to Lubbock to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders Wednesday night December 2. The next home game for the Kats in Sunday December 6 when Sam Houston plays host to Sul Ross.
