Kats Tackle Top Teams in SFA Tournament

The event runs Friday through Sunday at Palace Lanes. The No. 7 ranked Kats join 10 other nationally-ranked teams in the field.
Top ranked teams in the field include No. 1 Nebraska, No. 4 Central Missouri, No. 5 Stephen F. Austin, No. 8 Maryland-Eastern Shore, No. 9 Wisconsin-Whitewater, No. 12 Sacred Heart, No. 14 Saint Francis Brooklyn, No. 15 LIU-Brooklyn and No. 21 Tulane
Sam Houston brings a 66-31 won-loss record during their seven tournaments this season.The Bearkats own a 19-20 record this season against the current top 10 teams. The SHSU women are 38-25 overall against squads in the top 20.
Sam Houston's top performances so far have included a team championship at the Tulane Invitational, runner-up finishes at the FDU Jersey Jamboree and the Crusader Classic and a third place at the UMES Hawk Classic.
The SFA Lumberjack Classic schedule calls for the teams to play six total pin baker matches on Friday, six traditional team games on Saturday and three matches in best-of-seven baker bracket play on Sunday.
Total pins from the first two days action will determine the seeding for Sunday's bracket play.
