Las Cruces, New Mexico – Mila Milanovic and Maddie Mortimore picked up two wins for the Sam Houston women's tennis team in a 5-2 loss to New Mexico State Friday afternoon.

Milanovic defeated Marie-Pier Thiffault at the number four singles 6-4, 6-3. Maddie Mortimore took out Mia Brandt 6-1 6-3.

Olivia Battye went three sets with Ashvarya Shrivistava at the number one position 6-4 6-7 6-4. Karen Martinez also lost a close three-setter at number five singles to Erika Castillo Lopez 6-7 6-3 7-5.

Sam Houston has matches with Northern Colorado and UTEP remaining on their weekend trip West.
