Fabienne Gettwart earned the Bearkats their only point in a 6-1 Southland Conference dual match loss to McNeese State Saturday afternoon at the McAdams Tennis Center.

Gettwart defeated Julia Kral 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 at the number two singles.

Bailey VanDyke and Karen Martinez both took their opponents to three sets. VanDyke lost to Vivien Borbely 2-6 7-5 1-0 (10-7) at number fourth singles and Martinez fell 6-0 1-6 6-3 at number five.

Sam Houston State plays host to Nicholls Sunday at 1 p.m.
