Junior Maddie Mortimore provided Sam Houston its only point in a 6-1 Southland Conference dual match loss to Nicholls Sunday.

Mortimore defeated Kateryna Nakonechna of Nicholls 6-3, 6-4 at number six singles in the last match to finish against the Colonels.

Sam Houston lost in straight sets in the other five singles matches. The next action for the Bearkat women's tennis team is a road trip on Sunday March 29 to face Central Arkansas in Conway.
