The Sam Houston women's tennis team defeated Prairie View A&M 6-1 in a non-conference road match Sunday afternoon.

The Bearkats swept all three doubles and won at all singles positions except the number one slot.

Fabienne Gettwart defeated Sydney Thomas at number two 1-6, 6-4, 6-1. Mila Milanovic, Bailey VanDyke, Karen Martinez and Maddie Mortimore all won in straight sets.

Next up for the SHSU women's tennis team is a Southland Conference encounter with Central Arkansas on Sunday, March 29. The next home match for the Kats is Friday, April 3, when they play host to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
