SHSU Women Finish 9-5 at Music City Classic

The Sam Houston women's bowlers brought home a 9-5 dual match record from the Music City Classic in Tennessee.
Originally, 29 teams were to compete in the event. But a winter storm forced many schools to miss Friday opening round or miss the event all together. So the Classic was turned into three separate days of competition.
Sunday in Baker action, the Kats won three of their five matches. Sam Houston opened with victory over Tulane that had to go to a tiebreaker to find a victor. The SHSU women and the Green Wave tied 934 – 934 but Sam Houston won the breaker 94-85.
No. 16 Alabama-Birmingham and No. 1 Nebraska handed the Kats losses by scores of 1,024 – 972 and 1,042 – 1,026, respectively.
Sam Houston bounced back for a 956 – 856 victory over No. 17 Valparaiso and a 1,032 – 924 win over Alabama State. The Bearkats finished seventh in Sunday's total pins competition with 4,520.
