Kats go 4-0 on Day 1

With an average of 197.3, the Kats trail hosts FDU by less than two pins.
“It is never easy to start with a bye,” said head coach Brad Hagen. “But I thought the girls did a great job of overcoming that and had a very good day today.”
The Kats opened with a 934 during their bye match, but bounced back with a 1,015 and a 167-pin victory over No. 22 Prairie View A&M. They again rolled a 1,015 in a 178 pin victory over No. 21 Valpo.
The Kats stayed consistent, with a 1,025 in their fourth match of the day, beating No. 15 St. Francis by 130 pins before finishing the day with a 236-pin win over New Jersey City.
“ AS the day went on, we were able to take advantage of the middle part of the lane and score a lot better,” Hagen said. “Execution is key and we need to remain focused.”
Action from New Jersey will continue on Saturday before Sunday's finals. The Bearkats are seeking their third title of the year.
