Kats Add Ndu For 2017-18

HUNTSVILLE, Texas - Sam Houston State head men's basketball coach Jason Hooten announced the signing of Chidozie Ndu to a National Letter of Intent on Thursday.
Ndu will add immediate size to the Bearkats roster, just as he is doing for Sunrise Christian Academy in Wichita, Kansas. Standing at 6-11 with a wingspan of 7-5, Ndu is part of a Buffaloes squad that went 23-8 last year and is currently ranked No. 16 in the nation this season.
“Chidozie is a true 6-11 post player with a 7-5 wingspan,” Hooten said on Wednesday. “He's extremely athletic and long., which is exactly what we've been looking for in our recruiting classes. He can really run and jump and we expect him to put on some weight and step in and make an impact for us next year.”
A native of Lagos, Nigeria, Ndu averaged 8.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game as a junior and was named the MVP of the Fantasy of the Lights Tournament in Wichita Falls, Texas.
“The greatest thing is that he's been in the United States for four years and in a very family-oriented at Sunrise Christian, and that is something he was looking for. He's a perfect fit for our team and family.”
