Bearkats set to host annual Kat Klash

This weekend, the Sam Houston State bowling team will host it's annual Kat Klash tournament at Emerald Bowl in Houston.
The Field
The 17-team field is loaded with bowing history, as every women's NCAA champion and runner up since 2013 will be competing this weekend. Six teams currently in the NTCA top 10 are in the field including the 6th-ranked Kats. Four other top-25 teams are participation as well.
The History
This is the sixth year of the Kat Klash. The first two years were held at Huntsville Lanes. Year three was held at Palace Lanes in Houston. This will be their third year at Emerald Lanes.
The Kats were the winners of the first two events. In 2013 Arkansas State took the team title while Nebraska has won the last two championships.
The Venue
Emerald Bowl has been home to some significant events in NCAA history. The very first women's bowling championships in 2004 where Nebraska beat Central Missouri.
In 2006 the championships returned to Emerald Bowl when Fairleigh Dickenson defeated Alabama A&M.
Live Streaming
For the first time, the Bearkat Sports Network will live stream the Kat Klash. Mike Flannigan of InsideBowling.com will provide commentary throughout the weekend with special guests joining him throughout the event.
There will be one featured pair, Lanes 5 and 6, that will have live coverage, with updates from other matchups provided.
