Kats, James Madison to play Friday on ESPN2

HUNTSVILLE, Texas – Sam Houston State will take on James Madison in the FCS Playoffs Quarterfinals from Harrisonburg, Va., on Friday at 6 p.m. CT, the NCAA announced on Saturday night. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and streamed online through ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.
The Bearkats, who are the No. 5 seed in the FCS Playoffs and top-ranked team nationally, advanced on Saturday night, moving to 12-0 overall with a second-round, 41-36 victory against Chattanooga.
In the victory, quarterback Jeremiah Briscoe became the FCS's all-time leader for touchdown passes in a season with 57. The junior transfer connected on 20 of 40 passing for 363 yards and five touchdowns alongside one interception.
Meanwhile, James Madison, the four-seed in the playoffs, advanced to the quarters for the third time in school history after cruising to a 55-22 second-round win against New Hampshire.

The Bearkats, who will be taking on James Madison for the first time in program history, are an impressive 14-6 in the FCS Playoffs since the 2011 season. Sam Houston, along with North Dakota State, is one of two programs with double-digit victories in the playoffs during that span.
