The Sam Houston women's tennis team won all six singles matches after dropping the doubles point to earn a 6-1 non-conference dual match victory over South Dakota State Sunday afternoon at the McAdams Tennis Center.

Carrie Casey, Ema Barkovic, Mila Milanovic, Maddie Mortimore and Caitlyn Mitchell all won in straight sets. Casey won a pair of tiebreakers 7-6 7-6 to overcome Ffion Davies at number two. Barkovic defeated Florencia Magni 6-4, 6-3 at number three singles.

Milanovic topped Tacy Haws-Lay 6-1 6-2 for a win in the number four singles. Mortimore won over Beatriz Souza at number five 6-3 6-0. Mitchell had to go to a tie-breaker in the first set but won 7-6 6-3 at number six.

Fabienne Gettwart rallied after a first set loss to knock off Iasmin Rosa at number one 3-6 6-2 6-3 in the only three-set singles of the day.

Gettwart and Mitchell paired to win the number three doubles 6-1. Casey and Milanovic lost at number one and Barkovic and Mortimore fell 7-5 at number two.

The Bearkats now stand 4-2 for the season. South Dakota State drops to 2-4.
