Mila Milanovic and Maddie Mortimore won at number five and six singles, respectively, to provide Sam Houston its points in a 5-2 Southland Conference women's tennis dual match loss to Southeastern Louisiana Sunday at the McAdams Tennis Center.

UNO opened the contest with victories at the number one and two doubles to earn the doubles points. The Privateers clinched the win with victories at two, three and four singles.

The loss was the second close match for the Bearkats who opened Southland Conference play this weekend. Sam Houston lost to Southeastern Louisiana 4-3 Saturday.

“Both matches today and Saturday were ones that we could have won,” Sam Houston head coach Jim Giachino said. “We had match point in doubles to take the doubles point. And Fabienne was close to a win as well. We're still a pretty young team but I love their fight and I know they will take that last step and start winning.”
