Senior Maddie Mortimore won her final home match at the McAdams Center and sophomores Fabienne Gettwart and Carrie Casey picked up wins at the number one and two singles in a 4-3 Sam Houston loss to Abilene Christian Saturday afternoon.
Mortimore defeated Jordan Henry 6-1 4-6 1-0 (10-3) at number six singles for her 61st singles victory in her four-year career. Gettwart topped Erin Walker 6-2 6-3 and Casey defeated Kaysie Hermsdorf 7-5 6-3.
ACU, now 16-5 for the year and 6-1 in Southland play, won the doubles point by taking the number two and three sets. Gettwart and Mila Milanovic won at number one doubles 6-1.
Sam Houston will complete the 2016 regular season schedule with road matches at Northwestern State and Stephen F. Austin.
