Ema Barkovic and Khee Yen Wee both won their singles matches after splitting sets to pick up the Bearkats' two points in a 5-2 loss at Stephen F. Austin in a Southland Conference women's tennis dual match in Nacogdoches Saturday afternoon.

Barkovic defeated Lauren Hidalgo-Smith 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 in the number three singles. With the match already clinched by SFA when the pair split in the number four singles, Wee won the super tie-breaker 13-11 over Valeria Terentyeva. After dropping the first set 6-2, Wee won the second set 7-6

Liza Aginskaya handed Maddie Mortimore a 6-4 6-3 loss at number six, Mortimore's first loss in Southland Conference play this year.

Fabienne Gettwart, Carrie Casey and Mila Milanovic lost at number one, two and five singles, respectively. All the losses were in straight sets.

Sam Houston will wrap up their 2016 dual match schedule Sunday with an 11 a.m. contest at Northwestern State.
