Christopher Galbreath Signs With Kats

Christopher Galbreath, a 6-6, 205-pound post player from Southwestern Illinois Community College in Belleville, Illinois, has signed to play men's basketball at Sam Houston for head coach Jason Hooten.
Galbreath earned both NJCAA All-Region and All-Great Rivers Athletic Conference honors as a sophomore in 2015-16. He helped lead the Blue Storm to a 27-6 overall record, a conference championship and the championship game of the NJCAA Region 24 tournament.
The Chicago, Illinois, product averaged 14.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per game last season at Southwestern Illinois for Hall of Fame coach Jay Harrington.
“Christopher is a versatile athlete who can play two or three positions,” Hooten said. “He is an inside out player who is a great rebounder and defender and skilled offensively. He has a high motor and can put the ball on the floor and do some things with his long reach. With two years of eligibility he can come in and help us.”

Other newcomers joying the Bearkats for the 2016-17 season are 6-0 point guard John Dewey from Blinn Junior College and 6-6 forward Phillip Jones, a graduate transfer from UTSA.
