Cunningham Named Academic All-District

HUNTSVILLE – Sam Houston State senior Taylor Cunningham added another honor to her ledger on Thursday when she was named to the Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District second team, according to a release from COSIDA on Thursday afternoon.
For Cunningham, it adds to a litany of awards in 2018 and comes just one day after she was named the Southland Conference Player of the Year.
The senior accounting major is just the third player to be named the SLC Player of the Year and the first in recorded history to earn academic all-district honors. She was an academic all-SLC first team choice last year and her CoSIDA honor will automatically put her on that team once again.
The Google Cloud Academic All-America Football team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom, doing so separately in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
