In a venue the Kats have had some success, Sam Houston struggled on the first day of the Stormin' Ladyjack Invitational at Copperfield Lanes in Houston.
The Kats posted a 2-3 record on the day and currently sit in 14th place in the 18-team event.
“The lanes were demanding, but we made too many mistakes with the spare ball,” said head coach Brad Hagen. “We have to hit the reset button and show up on Saturday. We have a great opportunity to bounce back but we have to stay disciplined.”
The Kats picked up wins against Adelphia and Wisconsin-Whitewater on Friday, but failed to break 1,000 in any match of the day with a low of 837 in a loss to UAB.
Saturday's action will get started at 9:30 a.m. with five traditional team matches.
