HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston State Bearkats will look to add on to its current five-game win streak when hosts Wright State for a pair of midweek games beginning Tuesday at Don Sanders Stadium.
Tuesday's series opener will be aired live on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app with Matt Pedersen on the call. Each game can be followed via live stats or by following @BearkatsBSB on Twitter.

Sam Houston has reeled off five victories in a row since its loss on opening night in the final inning to Kent State, most recently sweeping past Cincinnati over the weekend in a series that crammed three games into roughly a 24-hour span due to inclement weather.
The Kats have shown off their depth early on, using at least 15 position players in five of its first six games while already getting 10 arms in on the action as well. Hunter Hearn has been the steadiest force in the Bearkat lineup to date, hitting safely in all six games and hitting .440 in that span while taking the early lead in the SLC with nine RBI. Of his 11 hits to date, four have been for extra bases, including two of Sam's four homers to date.
Matt Deggs' crew has pushed an average of 6.5 runs per game across the plate while the pitching staff has been as advertised with a 2.83 ERA while holding its opponents to just a .249 average.
The Raiders, meanwhile, have spent their first two weekends in Louisiana and picked up a pair of wins over the weekend after being swept by Tulane to open the year. Last weekend they dropped the opener of a three-game set at Louisiana before rallying to steal the final two games, and the series, from the Ragin' Cajuns in Lafayette.
Gabe Snyder turned in a big weekend for Wright State, who is coming off a 2017 season that saw them go 38-21 and miss out on a second straight Horizon League title by just one game behind UIC. Snyder was named the Horizon League's Hitter of the Week after hitting .417 in the series against the Ragin' Cajuns with four runs scored, a pair of doubles and three RBI.
The midweek set will be the final tune up for the Bearkats before they head to Houston for a tough test this weekend at the Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic. They will get a shot at three ranked SEC teams at Minute Maid Park, starting off with Vanderbilt on Friday and followed by clashes with Kentucky on Saturday and Mississippi State on Sunday.
