Bowlers finish Kat Klash in 3rd

CUT AND SHOOT – The Bearkat bowlers wrapped up the second and final day of the TRACK Kat Klash with a 2-2 record and finished third overall in the event.

They posted a 5-3 record for the tournament, a mark that was tied for second in the five-team field. Vanderbilt won the tournament on total pinfall, followed by Louisiana Tech.

Freshman Denise Blankenzee had her second strong event to start the season. She followed up her MVP performance at La Tech with another all-tournament performance. She led the Kats with a 205 average and finished fifth in the overall standings. Her high game of the day was a 241.

Elise Chambers was seventh overall with a 202 average. Hayley Connelly had the high game of the day for the Kats with a 268 in her final game.

After posting a 3-1 record on Day 1, the Kats opened up Saturday's play with losses to Vanderbilt and La Tech. They bounced back to knock off Prairie View and Texas Southern.

This was the final event for the fall for the Kats who are playing a limited schedule this season. They are scheduled to be back competing again on Jan. 22 for the Columbia Saint 300.
