Volleyball releases spring schedule

HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston State volleyball team has begun team practices for the 2020 season and head coach Brenda Gray released the spring schedule on Thursday.

The Bearkats will take part in four weekends during the spring, beginning March 21 at the FAST Complex in Houston. They will also host an event on March 28 in Huntsville before returning to Houston on April 14 for competition at the University of Houston.

The Kats will close out the spring competition schedule on April 25 at Stephen F. Austin.

Coach Gray's team returns 15 players from 2019, a year that saw the Kats go 19-14 overall and 12-4 in Southland Conference play. SHSU finished second in the league last year, advancing to the Southland Conference Tournament title match and eventually to the NIVC postseason tournament where they took down Houston in the first round.
