Bowling adds transfer to 2020 squad

The Sam Houston bowling program has added a bowler to this year's squad with the addition of Danielle McBride who will transfer in from University of Michigan Dearborn.

McBride, from Macomb, Mich., is the second signee from the state of Michigan to join the Bearkat bowling roster.

"Danielle has a very athletic past between her competitive softball days and her Michigan state successes which makes her development here with us attractive," Hagen said. "Her determination to better herself on the lanes will just add to the talented roster already in place. Through these chaotic times that we are in, I still see a lot of passion and enthusiasm this young lady has which is what we need. Danielle will definitely have an impact on this team's future success on and off the lanes."

McBride joins the Bearkat bowling program as a graduate of honors from Macomb Dakota High School and will be transferring in from the University of Michigan Dearborn where she's been for the last year. She will have three years of eligibility remaining with the Kats.

Along with her academic achievements, McBride excelled on the lanes in high school wrapping up her senior year averaging 215 and earning MHSIBCA Honors on the Division 1 All State 1^st Team. The 2018 Division 1 Girls Individual Champion accolades also include being a four-time Michigan State Qualifier, three-time All-State Honors, 2018 Detroit Free Press Bowler of the Year, MAC Red MVP and former Team MVP, and WHAC Player of the week honors.

She is looking to continue her academics in Business & Health Management.
