Bowling opens season Sunday at Kat Klub

When Brad Hagen first found out he was going to get an on-campus bowling facility, he began planning for his first competition. Sunday that will become a reality when the Bearkats welcome Texas Southern to the Kat Klub in the Lowman Student Center.

The Tigers will visit for an exhibition match starting at 10:30 a.m.

"We are excited to finally be able to compete on campus," Hagen said. "This facility has been a game-changer for us from a training standpoint, and now we are excited to bring in another team."

The format will be a modified mega-match. Set 1 will be a modified traditional game while the second set is a five-game baker set while the third set is a best of five match play.

Fans are encouraged to attend with doors opening at 9:30 a.m.

This will be the first competition of the season for the Bearkats. They will get the regular season started on Oct. 22 at Tulane. The Bearkats will host the Track Kat Klash on Nov. 5-7 at Emerald Bowl in Houston.
